As we reach the end of our school year 2011-2012 we would like to share with you our sporting successes over the last 12 months.  We will summarize our achievements in each sporting area.

BASKETBALL

• We began the school year with participation in the Nájera Telmex Basketball League, where our teams performed very satisfactorily. The years of work that have gone into development of the basketball program have borne fruits for all age groups. All of our teams reached either the semi-finals or finals of the tournament, which bodes well for our hopes of success in regional and state competitions. The first obstacle to overcome in this journey was the Municipal School Games (organized by the Secretary of Education) where, for the fourth consecutive year, we won the boys’ competition and were runners up in the girls’ category.
• Another of our successes this semester came from the Girls’ Middle School team, who successfully defended their title as state champions in the CONADE National Olympics. Once more Campoverde will be proud to represent Colima in the regional stage of this competition.
• As the season ended, we attended the traditional Don Bosco Cup where some of our players who hadn’t had the opportunity to participate in many matches, or who had only just joined the basketball program, were able to compete. We were pleased to see all of our teams reach the finals of the tournament where we obtained two first places (Middle School level and Elementary School Girls) and four second places (Elementary and Middle School, High School Girls and Boys).
• In the Secretary of Education’s School Games our elementary and Middle School students represented the city of Colima in the state competitions. Both teams won the championship again, which means that our Elementary School team will represent the state of Colima in the regional stages of this tournament. Although our Middle School students are state champions, there is no regional competition in which they can compete.
• Our Elementary and Middle School Boys teams also participated in the Municipal Games organized by the Secretary of Education. We won the competition in both age-groups; the third year in a row for our Elementary students and second year for our Middle School students.
Congratulations to all those who participated for these fantastic results. The accumulation of these achievements contributes to the growth of sporting spirit within Campoverde, for both those who actively participate in sporting events and those who continue to support our teams.

CONGRATULATIONS!
